About the Author

Who I am:

My name is Zachary Lace Williamson, and I’m the owner and blogger-in-chief at IZation Labs. I’ve spent years of free time tinkering and modifying any and all items within the reach of a student, and as I’ve grown I eventually saw fit to create a website to keep track of what I’m working on and to share it with the world. I love to dabble in electromechanical engineering, as well computer science and graphics.

My interests include technology of any form, old and new. It is my belief that technology can easily make or break a person, a community, or even the entire planet. By staying on top of the newest developments, we find ourselves more capable of understanding the ever evolving world around us. Plus, technology is just really, really, cool.

That’s why I enjoy talking students about technology so much. Kids are so willing to learn, a lot of them absorb information like a sponge, and some are undoubtedly being under utilized and ignored in their high schools. But give them something interesting and they hold on to it. That connection could lead to greater things after primary school. Things ranging from the choice to go to college to considering a full blown career in engineering or other technology related fields!

College-Now is a program that helped me to obtain my associates degree in engineering in less than two years while simultaneously attending and graduating from high school. College-Now is what really sparked this site into existance. This school helped me gain the reasoning and learning skills I needed to make it in the world as well as a solid understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering. Our stamina, open mind, and eagerness to learn is what sets people like those emerging from the program apart from the rest. I don’t pretend to know everything. Trying to know everything would be insane, as everything is constantly changing before our eyes. I know a little about a lot of things, with some special-IZations here and there, and there isn’t anything wrong with that. The reasons for my motivation and inspiration can be summed up by one statement that I strongly believe in:

Normal is a failure of potential.

Normal is exactly what I hope to never be. Fitting in with the crowd? No thank you. Normal is sitting back and blending in. Wierd, crazy, interesting, truely unique, that’s what I strive for.

If you want to get in contact with me to ask about speaking to students about College-Now or technology in and around North Central Ohio, possible job prospects, or to just chat, please drop me a line via the Contact Us page, the link to which is in the navigation bar at the top of this page.
