‘r0B’

It’s been ages since my last update, and I apologize for that. Things have been rather busy at school, and it’s not about to slow down as exams move closer and closer.

However, I do have for your viewing pleasure a test/demo reel of Blender works that I’ve been doing for my upcoming animated short ‘r0B’, a story about a little robot who has to fix a broken down assembly line before the clock runs out. These shots were mainly all tests of some kind, the last one is my favorite, which shows the overall environment to date, as well as some test camera animations with random noise added to the movement for realism. This is an assignment for my SAG 245 class at Eastern Michigan University, which is due Tuesday, November 30th. I’ve got my work cut out for me.

Sintel is OUT!

Alright, I have all of five minutes to write this post. The reason I only have five minutes is that in five minutes and a few odd seconds I will be totally enveloped in watching the new open movie from the Blender Foundation which has just released! At that point, for all intents and purposes, I will be dead to the world until the film is over. You can download it free, online, by clicking right here to go to the download page.

OR! You can watch it right below here. :) Don’t forget to click on at least 720p resolution for the full quality of a film made with completely free and open source software!

ReElect The Dead

ReElect The Dead, a personal project of my cousin and myself with no direct connections to IZation Labs, is an upcoming political satirical zombie film from Brian Lynch and Lace Williamson. The film stars President Obama and George Bush as a one two punch against a small town spiraling out of control. Filming for the indie project took place towards the end of Summer 2009, and editing is now being done. The final release will be sometime at the beginning of this Summer.

Here’s the link for anyone interested. I’m always updating it with new screenshots or sneak peaks. It just sums up to a good laugh.

Reactors, Green Screens, and Protective Pots

With the IZL green screen nearly finished, (or at least as ‘finished’ as any DIY project can be), I decided rather than just do some lame speaking in front of the screen kind of test, I would spice things up a bit. Tie this thought in with the recent creation of my look alike Arc Reactor, and we have a decent premise for a simple though effective twenty second green screen test.

Jump Stunt

Made a new short SFX clip today named “Jump Stunt”. It took about three and a half to four hours to make. The final cut turned out better than I expected. If you’ve seen the movie Jumper, then you can probably guess where my inspiration came from.

You can also tell that I’m not the best actor, but hey, it’s not easy when you have to be the camera man and the guy who jumps off the porch 10 times in a row to get the right shot! That kind of thing can leave you a little disoriented..
